Housing Catalyst Hires New Director of Real Estate Development

Housing Catalyst is pleased to announce Kristin Krasnove Fritz is the new Director of Real Estate Development. Fritz succeeds Chadrick Martinez, who was integral in expanding Housing Catalyst’s development of new affordable housing over the last eight years. Martinez has moved on to a new business opportunity.

Fritz has served as Housing Catalyst’s senior project manager since 2011. She worked as an urban planner for over ten years prior to joining the organization. Her planning work focused on the relationship between health and the built environment, sustainability, housing, and transit-oriented development.

“I was initially drawn to Housing Catalyst’s mission-based approach to housing development,” Fritz said. “I have been fortunate to work on interesting and impactful projects over the last six years. I have seen how housing can truly change people’s lives and it is inspiring to be that agent for change.”

At Housing Catalyst, Fritz led the development of Redtail Ponds, Village on Redwood and Village on Horsetooth, which is currently under construction. Before coming to Housing Catalyst, Fritz worked as a senior planner for the City of Denver. She began her career in California’s Bay Area where issues of affordable housing have dominated community conversations for many years.

As a developer, Fritz has a passion for incorporating health and sustainability into housing, “I want to create housing that contributes to quality of life,” Fritz explains. “It’s important to know how our residents will use the spaces we create, and how it affects their lives. I don’t just think about building a place for people to live. I also focus on how to build community in that space.”

Fritz strives to create high quality housing that is both affordable and beautiful.  She wants people to feel proud of where they live, no matter their income.
