We held the Grand Opening of Village on Redwood in north Fort Collins on August 23, 2017. Over 100 people came together to see the development and celebrate its completion. U.S.Representative Jared Polis and Mayor Wade Troxell spoke about the importance of this development for Fort Collins. It now gives 72 families who have low to moderate income the ability to afford a place to live.
Village on Redwood is a community of 72 apartments and townhomes with 1,2,3 and 4 bedrooms. Village on Redwood was designed with a strong focus on community, livability and sustainability and it fits well within the context of the surrounding neighborhood. It has elevated the neighborhood with its high quality design, architecture and landscaping. Its details enhance the lives of families, with in-unit washers and dryers, plentiful storage, and private outdoor living spaces, along with both front and back doors to give residents a true sense of living in a “home.” Many buildings face the community greenspace and the fitness room overlooks the playground so parents can exercise while kids play.
It was designed in partnership with the City of Fort Collins natural areas program. The site’s west side contains a beautiful pond that is now a dedicated natural area called Goose Hollow with walking trails built around the pond. Integrating this natural area into the development encourages residents to enjoy this outdoor space and promotes environmental awareness.
This property’s location is perfect for bike access in Fort Collins. It is the first community developed in partnership with the Fort Collins Bike Share program, which provides 10 bikes for anyone in the community to borrow.
This development exceeds most sustainability standards with its water conserving features, energy efficiencies, site lighting designed to minimize light pollution, and native xeriscaping.
