We’re proud to announce that Housing Catalyst and Larimer County Housing Authority received zero findings in the independent 2024 single audit. This achievement underscores our continued dedication to excellence and compliance in managing federal housing programs.
Each year, Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) that expend over $1 million in federal awards undergo a single audit, as mandated by federal guidelines. This comprehensive review is conducted by an independent firm selected through a competitive proposal process and evaluates financial statements, adherence to program requirements, and compliance with federal laws and regulations. The results are submitted to HUD and factor into several reporting and performance assessments.
For 2024, auditors reviewed all new admissions; all end of participation families; all vouchers paid; all failed inspections; information on all files or inspections audited; and SEMAP score information for Larimer County Housing Authority.
We’re happy to share that the audit team not only found no issues, but also provided encouraging feedback, including:
- Files are comprehensive and meticulously organized
- Hand calculations show the depth of knowledge of the team
- Compliance is a priority for these PHA’s, and the volume of internal audits was impressive
- This team supports a complex portfolio and understanding of specific vouchers is evident
This outcome is a direct reflection of our staff’s hard work, expertise, and integrity. We are deeply grateful for their efforts and proud to share this success with our community.
