Housing Catalyst maintains waiting lists for a variety of voucher programs. These waiting lists open for brief periods during which eligible households may apply.

Before opening a waiting list, Housing Catalyst will announce the opening in local newspapers like The Coloradoan, as well as share information through our partner agencies.

Project-Based Vouchers

Waiting List Open May 7-11, 2026

Housing Catalyst has opened the waiting list for Project-Based Vouchers from Thursday, May 7th at 9:00 AM to Monday, May 11th at 4:30 PM.

Project-Based Vouchers (PBV) provide assistance towards the cost of rent in designated apartments. These vouchers are only eligible at specific apartments. Rent is approximately 30% of your total household income.

To qualify, the applicant’s household total income or benefits must be below 50% of the area median income. The number of bedrooms a household is eligible for depends on the household size. (See specific guidelines on the application.)

Applicants do not need to verify income when applying for the waiting list. Housing Catalyst will collect more information when a project-based apartment becomes available.

Waiting List Process and Next Steps

A housing voucher is used to pay a portion of your rent based on your income.

For Project Based Vouchers, all applications received during the waiting list opening dates will have an equal chance of being selected. We will place all applications into a lottery, and randomly selected applications will be placed on the Project Based Voucher waiting list.

For Housing Choice Vouchers, all applications received during the waiting list opening dates will have an equal chance of being selected. We will place all applications into a lottery, and randomly selected applications will be placed on the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) waiting list.

For Project Based Vouchers, all applications received during the waiting list opening dates will have an equal chance of being selected. We will place all applications into a lottery, and randomly selected applications will be placed on the Project Based Voucher waiting list.

For Housing Choice Vouchers, completed applications will be placed into a lottery and assigned a number through a random selection process. A selection of assigned numbers (for example, 1 through 800) will be placed on a waiting list to receive a Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) should funding be available, over the next two to three years. Numbers outside of the selected range (for example, 801 and higher) will not be placed on the waiting list.

If you are on the waiting list for a Housing Choice Voucher, you will be contacted when you come to the top of the list. At that time, Housing Catalyst will ask for documentation verifying eligibility. Once eligibility is confirmed, and voucher assistance is available, you will be invited to a meeting to receive a voucher and information about the program. You will then be responsible for locating an eligible rental home in Larimer County where you can use your voucher.

If you are on the waiting list for a Project-Based Voucher, you will be contacted when your name comes to the top of the waiting list. At that time, Housing Catalyst will ask for documentation verifying eligibility and schedule a meeting to share information about the program.

We need to be able to contact you by mail to offer assistance. If your contact information changes, please update it through the Housing Catalyst RentCafé portal within ten days of the change.
