At Housing Catalyst, we strive to do our best for the people we serve, our community and our global environment. We are honored to have received the following awards recognizing our work and achievements.
We have received “High Performer” designation by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) since 2001. HUD’s objective scoring systems affirm our program integrity and accountability.
Housing Catalyst has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for nine consecutive years, 2013-2021. This certificate is awarded to organizations that go beyond minimum accounting principles to produce financial reports in the spirit of transparency and full disclosure. The process is rigorous but it ensures that our financial reporting is comprehensive and on par with other top governmental entities in the country. Housing Catalyst is one of only 20 housing authorities in the U.S. that have earned this certificate of achievement.
Housing Catalyst was issued a AA- rating by Standard and Poors (S&P) in December 2016. The rating reflects S&P’s view of Housing Catalyst’s strengths, which include its:
- Strong enterprise risk profile, supported by high population growth and a relatively expensive rental market, good asset quality, and very strong management
- Strong financial profile, demonstrated by very low debt obligations and its ability to cover operating and maintenance (O&M) costs from rental income, its capacity to repay debt obligations from earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in a timely manner, an extremely strong liquidity profile, and strong financial policies
- Very strong management, and development plans intended to strengthen its asset quality in the near term
