Housing Catalyst has been featured in the Spring 2026 issue of Affordable Housing News in an article titled “Building Against Headwinds: Colorado housing authority doubles down on creative dealmaking in the face of funding uncertainties.”
The piece focuses on Oak 140, Housing Catalyst’s five-story, 79-unit mixed-use building in downtown Fort Collins, which also serves as home to our development offices. The article examines the creative financing strategies the Housing Catalyst development team employed to bring the project to completion amid a challenging funding landscape. The project was constructed without federal funding and with a combination of 4 percent and state tax credits, a DDA land contribution and equity and a public bond offering.
Kristin Krasnove Fritz, Housing Catalyst’s Chief Real Estate Officer, was interviewed for the piece and spoke to the value of the building’s downtown location:
“Moving our office to downtown, we can walk to the city offices, we can meet with our local design teams and planners, all within walking distance. We’re really well-integrated into what’s happening in the community.”
