JumpStart hosted its first annual Summer Picnic on Friday, June 13th, at the Gardens on Spring Creek. The evening brought together JumpStart participants, graduates, and their families for an evening of celebration, connection, and community.

The event served two important purposes: fostering a sense of community among JumpStart participants and recognizing the achievements of the program’s most recent graduates. In all, 58 people attended, including 19 JumpStart families and their guests.

Seven 2024–2025 graduates were honored during the evening. Each received a certificate of accomplishment, and several shared reflections on their personal journeys. “It was so nice to see our participants interacting with each other and being able to recognize past graduates,” said JumpStart Coordinator Laura Winsett.

JumpStart Coordinator Meg Stewart added, “We enjoyed a beautiful night at the Gardens on Spring Creek celebrating our first annual JumpStart picnic! We had 19 JumpStart families attend and honored seven of our 2024/2025 graduates. We hope to make this a yearly event.”

The evening included free access to the gardens and a catered dinner for attendees. The celebration was made possible thanks to a grant from Kaiser Permanente. Plans are already underway to secure additional grant funding to ensure this celebration becomes an annual tradition!
